“ Forgotten Dreams: Meditations on Narrative Space” explores the creative connection between visual music and space composition, incorporating ritual contents as narrative. Today, many visual artists and musicians address the possibility of interplay between sounds and images; however, physical factors, such as space, light, and depth, have been relatively less studied. In addition, the contemporary practice of visualizing music rarely deals with social customs and religious rituals as sources of artistic inspiration. For these reasons, Rosa’s creative work, “ Forgotten Dreams: Meditations on Narrative Space,” introduces an immersive audiovisual environment that examines the spatial potential of visual music and representation of traditional Korean funeral rites in an artistic context. In this ritual space, the audience is invited to pause and contemplate the moment of crossing from life into death through an enhanced visual, aural, and spatial perception.
