Handheld Devices is a series of 3 project, one of which is 'Phoning.' Phoning is a series of one-on- performances that use the functionality of the smartphone to invert the now-common dynamics of distance created in a screen-mediated culture. The phones depict the skin beneath our clothes and share an intense, five-minute moment in intimate time and space with another person.
